Cardiff has been revealed as the leading city in the UK for people borrowing money and getting into debt in order to show their middle-class status.
In a report from MoneySupermarket, which took the average income against the average amount borrowed by local residents, Cardiff was shown to have the worst ratio.
A statement from the group commented, "Residents of the Welsh capital believe they are middle class, in spite of the fact they earn less money and are only able to afford the luxuries of a middle class lifestyle by borrowing."
